What courses does National Caregiver Organization offer?
National Caregiver Organization offers five fully online, self-paced caregiver training courses: the Home Health Aide (HHA) Online Course, Personal Care Assistant (PCA) Online Course, Private Care Worker (PCW) Online Course, Direct Care Worker (DCW) Online Course, and Certified Nursing Assistant (CNA) Online Exam Prep Course.
All courses include free CPR and Basic First Aid training and provide one full year of access from the date of enrollment.
Is online caregiver training legitimate?
Yes. Online caregiver training provides a valid and recognized educational pathway for individuals entering home-based caregiving roles. National Caregiver Organization's courses are used by individuals preparing for home care agency competency evaluations, private duty caregiver positions, and family caregiving.
For CNA state certification, our exam prep course prepares you for the official state exam, which must be passed separately. We encourage prospective students to verify their employer or state training acceptance requirements before enrolling.
How long does the HHA online course take to complete?
Our HHA Online Course includes 75+ hours of instruction and is fully self-paced. Most students complete the course within 4 to 12 weeks depending on how much time they dedicate each day. You have access to the full course for one year from your enrollment date, so there is no rush.
What is the difference between an HHA, PCA, and CNA?
A Home Health Aide (HHA) provides skilled hands-on care to clients in their homes, typically through a licensed home care agency. A Personal Care Assistant (PCA) supports clients with daily personal care and companionship tasks in private or family settings, often working independently. A Certified Nursing Assistant (CNA) works in licensed care facilities such as nursing homes or hospitals and must pass a state certification exam.

How much do the courses cost?

Do I need any prior experience to enroll?
No prior medical experience or educational background is required to enroll in any of our courses. Our programs are designed for beginners and start with foundational caregiving concepts before progressing to more advanced skills. If you are a career changer, a student, or someone with no healthcare background, you are fully qualified to enroll.
Will I receive a certificate after completing the course?
Yes. Upon completing all course modules and passing the final exam with a minimum score of 80%, you will receive a Certificate of Completion from National Caregiver Organization. Your certificate will be emailed within 3 to 5 business days of passing your exam, sometimes sooner.
Is the certificate accepted by home care agencies and employers?
Many private home care employers and agencies accept our Certificate of Completion as evidence of foundational caregiver training. Acceptance policies vary by employer, agency, and state. We recommend confirming with your target employer before enrolling.
For state-regulated CNA positions, you will need to pass your state official certification exam in addition to completing our CNA Exam Prep Course.
What states is the training available in?
Our online courses are available to learners across all 50 states. The HHA, PCA, PCW, and DCW courses are designed for private and independent caregiving roles that are not typically state-licensed. The CNA Exam Prep Course is designed to support learners preparing for the CNA state exam in select states.
State training requirements for home care agency employment vary. Please check with your intended employer or your state department of health.
